Key Responsibilities • Building and Leading a High-Performing Team: Construct and maintain a diverse software engineering team, providing training, career development, coaching, and interaction improvement. • Technical Vision and Strategy: Develop and own the technical vision and strategy for applications and tools, ensuring alignment with business objectives. • Collaboration and Prioritization: Work closely with product managers and other stakeholders to prioritize work, set goals, and deliver exceptional customer experiences. • Engineering Practices and Operational Excellence: Refine engineering practices, maintain operational excellence, and drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. • Communication and Leadership: Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members. • Adaptability and Innovation: Embrace change, adapt to new technologies, and identify opportunities for growth and innovation. Essential Qualifications • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field. • Experience: 3+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years of experience in engineering management. • Technical Skills: Strong programming skills in an object-oriented language, with a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, databases, etc.). • Event-Driven Systems: Experience with event-driven systems architecture (reactive design). • Cloud Services: Experience deploying web services in cloud infrastructure, with a strong understanding of cloud computing principles. • Testing and Validation: Experience writing unit tests and implementing test-driven development processes. Preferred Qualifications • Reactive Programming: Profound experience with reactive programming on JVM languages, ideally Java. • Help Administration: Hands-on experience as a help administrator, with experience creating and managing visibility systems. • AWS Services: Experience managing AWS services, with specific experience using Terraform or other IAC tools. • NoSQL Data Stores: Experience building and managing distributed NoSQL data stores like DynamoDB, Cassandra, Scylla, and Couchbase. • Remote Collaboration: Experience working with remote global teams and adaptable schedules across various time zones.
