Our founders, twin brothers Peter and Harry, bring a wealth of experience from their previous roles at Stripe, McKinsey, and Google. With a strong engineering and product-driven culture, we're now looking to expand our team with a talented Full-Stack Software Engineer to help us build the future of travel planning.

About the Role

As a Full-Stack Software Engineer at Wanderlog, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the company's product roadmap and technical direction. You'll work closely with our founders and team to design, develop, and deploy new features across our web and mobile applications. Your expertise will help us drive growth, improve user experience, and stay ahead of the competition in the travel tech space.

Key Responsibilities:


Design and develop new features for our web and mobile applications using modern React, React Native, and Node.js/Express
Collaborate with the team to identify product opportunities and prioritize tasks based on user needs and business goals
Build data pipelines to crawl, process, and synthesize data from various sources around the web
Write high-quality, tested, and maintainable code, with a focus on Typescript and testing
Debug and fix bugs, and scale our infrastructure as the company grows
Review code written by other engineers and contribute to the improvement of our engineering processes


Some Examples of Projects You Might Work On:


Developing user-friendly hotel booking interfaces to simplify the travel planning process
Optimizing our React Native mobile app for better performance on slower Android devices
Creating a Chrome extension to enable quick comparisons of travel options, such as flights and hotels
Designing and implementing better collaboration tools to encourage users to invite friends and share travel plans
Building a profile page that showcases users' travel history, helps them track their impact, and enables them to follow friends and their trips


What We're Looking For

We're seeking a talented Full-Stack Software Engineer with a passion for building innovative products and a love for travel. You should be comfortable with Javascript, React, and React Native, and have experience with front-end development, HTML, and CSS. As a product-driven company, we value engineers who can think beyond just coding and are excited about contributing to product decisions and user experience.

Essential Qualifications:


Proficiency in Javascript, with experience working with modern React and React Native
Strong understanding of front-end development principles, HTML, and CSS
Experience with Node.js/Express and server-side development
Comfortable with Typescript and testing frameworks
Ability to pick up new technologies and adapt to changing project requirements


Preferred Qualifications:


Experience with data pipelines and processing large datasets
Familiarity with Redis, Elasticsearch, and other relevant technologies
Knowledge of Python and other programming languages
Experience working in a startup environment and contributing to product decisions
A passion for travel and understanding of the travel industry

Compensation and Benefits
