Job Description We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Full Stack Math Teacher to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a part-time Sylvan Instructor, you will be trained on our curriculum and given the tools to teach in a small group setting, with a maximum student-to-teacher ratio of 4:1. You will provide personalized instruction in the subjects you are qualified to and wish to teach, using our proven and effective teaching methods. Key Responsibilities As a successful Math Teacher, you will: Teach using Sylvan-based programs, designed to meet the unique needs of each student Supervise, interact with, and motivate students during instruction hours, while they work with equipment and materials Reward students for completed assignments and provide positive reinforcement to encourage continued progress Evaluate and document student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness Communicate student needs to the center manager, ensuring that each student receives the support they require to succeed Develop rapport with students and establish a fun learning environment, making math accessible and enjoyable for all Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan's mission Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: Minimum 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience, with a proven track record of success Test prep, SAT/ACT teaching or tutoring experience is a plus, but not required Associates degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or some college in a related field required Availability to work Monday through Thursday, 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays as needed What We Offer As a Sylvan team member, you'll work in a fast-paced environment and make an impact on our business, contributing towards the success of our company.
