Job Overview

As a Data Specialist in our Games DSE team, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing key pipelines to analyze game performance and inform business decisions. You'll work closely with our game studio partners to understand their data needs and develop advanced metrics for games. This is an incredible opportunity to join a talented team of data engineers, analysis engineers, and data scientists and contribute to the growth of Netflix Games.

Key Responsibilities


Design and Development: Engineer efficient, scalable, and flexible data pipelines to process structured and unstructured data, focusing on games-related metrics.
Game Portfolio Analysis: Develop a deep understanding of the emerging games space at Netflix and analyze game portfolio performance.
Collaboration: Partner with game studio teams to develop advanced metrics for games, such as retention and engagement.
Data Integration: Work with Netflix's inside game studios and external game partners to ingest relevant metrics and game data into the Netflix ecosystem.
SDK and Data Collection: Collaborate with the Netflix SDK team and external game partners to collect data through the Netflix Games SDK.
Teamwork: Join a dynamic team of data engineers with diverse skill sets and work closely with analysis engineering and data science partners.


Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:


Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least one of Java, Python, or Scala with a minimum of 2 years of programming/data engineering experience.
SQL and Data Processing: Strong understanding of advanced SQL and experience with big data technologies (Hive, Voila, Spark, Flink) on medium to large-scale datasets.
Cloud Computing: Familiarity with AWS cloud resources (S3, EC2, RDS, etc.).
Data Modeling: Ability to take requirements and implement scalable data models and pipelines.
Passion for Data: Enthusiasm for building intuitive data products and demonstrating excellence in data engineering.


Preferred Qualifications:


Distributed Data Processing: Experience with distributed data processing and a strong understanding of data pipelines.
Data Visualization: Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
Communication: Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
