What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)

As an Experienced Fleet Manager – South Atlantic and Dealers Choice Remote, you will be responsible for:

* Implementing and coordinating fleet maintenance programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and minimize downtime
* Promoting, inspecting, coaching, and training local branches on repair and maintenance processes to ensure consistency and quality
* Managing fleet repair and maintenance program and provider relationships to optimize costs and service levels
* Driving compliance with company and DOT safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for our drivers and employees
* Managing total cost of ownership of fleet assets and material handling equipment to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
* Communicating with internal departments, warehouse workers, drivers, leaders, and vendors to ensure seamless coordination and collaboration
* Managing vehicle inspection process and DOT compliance documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
* Developing and maintaining KPIs to improve asset utilization and fleet optimization, and identifying future savings opportunities using data sources
* Partnering with branches and operations team to develop equipment specifications that meet business needs and regulatory requirements
* Reviewing roadside inspection violations and assisting with root cause identification to prevent future occurrences
* Providing information and updates on fleet transfers, replacements, and acquisitions to ensure a smooth transition
* Supporting field operations to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards
* Assisting in annual maintenance budget requirements to ensure accurate forecasting and planning
* Managing commercial motor vehicle fuel program and auditing fuel purchases to optimize costs and service levels
* Maintaining physical inventory of fleet assets to ensure accuracy and compliance
* Providing training and awareness of telematics and safe fleet operation to ensure a safe working environment for our drivers and employees

What is Required (Qualifications)

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* 5+ years of experience with commercial motor vehicle operations, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards
* Ability to build trust and confidence with management and supervision, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Thorough knowledge of applicable regulations, including DOT and OSHA requirements
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with experience in data analysis and reporting
* Attention to detail and ability to work unsupervised, with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility
* Extensive experience and judgment in goal planning and accomplishment, with a proven track record of driving results and achieving goals
* Ability to multi-task in a matrixed environment, with excellent organizational and time management skills
* Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time, with flexibility to adapt to changing business needs
* Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of employees, with a strong ability to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders
