About the Role and How You Will Contribute As an Experienced Fire Protection Designer at Ahern, you will play a crucial role in designing automatic sprinkler systems using HydraCAD, an AutoCAD-based software product, and AutoSprink. With a strong focus on attention to detail, you will work closely with our Sales Project Managers to plan, organize, and execute projects from start to finish. Your responsibilities will include: Conducting on-site field surveys to gather necessary information for project design Generating hydraulic calculations to ensure system efficiency and compliance with industry standards Submitting drawings to obtain the required building permits and approvals Utilizing 3D BIM coordination using NavisWorks to ensure seamless project execution Preparing stock lists and ensuring projects adhere to the proposed timeline Preparing project close-out, operation, and maintenance documents to ensure a smooth handover Candidates with more experience will be given higher-level projects and the opportunity to mentor junior designers, providing a chance to develop leadership skills and share expertise.
