Key Responsibilities As a Field Services Engineer (UPS), your primary responsibilities will include: Working on a wide range of multi-module data centers, carrying out installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting on various products, including uninterruptible power supply systems and critical power solutions. Conducting preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to ensure optimal system performance and minimize downtime. Collaborating with clients to understand their needs and providing expert advice on electrical engineering and critical power solutions. Developing and maintaining technical knowledge and skills through in-house training, external courses, and industry events. Traveling to high-end customer sites, primarily in New York and Connecticut, to deliver exceptional service and support. Candidate Requirements To be successful in this role, you should possess the following essential qualifications and skills: Experience as a Field Engineer, preferably with a background in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field. Strong knowledge of uninterruptible power supply systems, critical power solutions, and electrical engineering principles. Familiarity with testing, UPS, AC, DC, battery, data center, generator, and energy systems. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues. A willingness to learn and develop new skills, with a commitment to ongoing professional development. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable: Ex-military experience, with a background in electrical engineering or a related field. Specialist training or certifications in uninterruptible power supply systems, critical power solutions, or electrical engineering. Experience working with Vertiv or similar critical power solutions. A strong understanding of data center operations and critical power systems. Familiarity with industry-specific software and technologies.
