Job Summary As an English Language Arts Teacher at GHS, you will be responsible for teaching assigned classes, developing engaging lesson plans, and assessing student progress. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve school-wide goals and contribute to a positive and productive school culture. This is a remote teaching opportunity that offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, while still providing high-quality instruction to our students. Key Responsibilities Teach assigned English Language Arts classes using the educational philosophy and policies adopted by the Board of Education. Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of students, using State and District curriculum guidelines. Use a range of instructional methods and materials to engage students and promote academic achievement. Assess student progress and identify areas where students may need additional support. Communicate with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure that students are meeting their academic goals. Maintain accurate records and make reports as necessary. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and motivation. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in English Language Arts education. Collaborate with colleagues to achieve school-wide goals and contribute to a positive and productive school culture. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must: Hold or be eligible for State of Delaware Certification in English Language Arts or a related field. Have a strong understanding of English Language Arts curriculum and instructional methods. Be able to stand and work continuously for a minimum of 4 hours per workday. Be able to lift 50 pounds with assistance. Have the ability to use arms and hands without restrictions to accommodate the physical, mobility, and ambulatory needs of students. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience teaching English Language Arts at the high school level. Strong knowledge of technology integration in the classroom. Experience with data-driven instruction and assessment. Ability to work with diverse student populations and create inclusive learning environments.
