In this remote role based in San Diego, CA, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who share your passion for employee relations and business success. As an Employee Relations Business Partner, you will play a critical role in managing employee escalations, working on special projects, and building capability for managers to ensure a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
In this dynamic and challenging role, you will be responsible for:

Managing a heavy caseload of employee escalations, including workplace conflicts, concerns about unfair or negative work environments, and consultations on corrective action
Working autonomously and collaboratively with other members of the Ethics & Investigations team, HR Connect team, HR Business Partners, and managers and employees to resolve complex employee relations issues
Developing and implementing effective solutions to employee relations issues, using a data-driven approach and objective empathy to ensure the best possible outcomes for all parties involved
Building capability for managers through individual cases and project work, providing guidance and support to help them navigate complex employee relations issues
Working on special projects, such as drafting and updating playbooks and protocols, revising policies, and drafting manager guides to support the development of a positive and productive work environment


Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:

At least 5 years of experience in Employee Relations or a related field, with a proven track record of managing complex employee relations issues and building strong relationships with stakeholders
Extreme ownership of execution and operational excellence, including a strong commitment to following and contributing to updates to protocols and playbooks, and using technology to manage cases
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and communicate effectively with leaders, members of management, and employees at all levels of the organization
Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions to employee relations issues
A data-driven mindset, with a strong understanding of the importance of using data to inform decision-making and drive business success
A learning and growth mindset, with a commitment to continuously seeking to improve yourself and the experience for employees


Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

A Master's degree or Juris Doctor (J.D.) in a related field, such as Human Resources, Business Administration, or Law
Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with a strong ability to self-motivate and manage your time effectively
Knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations, including Title VII, ADA, and FMLA
Experience with HR information systems and other technology tools used to manage employee relations issues
