Experienced Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager – REALD & SOGI Outreach Manager for Community Engagement and Health Equity Promotion

Introduction to the Oregon Health Authority and the RoleThe Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is committed to eliminating health inequities in Oregon by 2030 and becoming an anti-racist organization. As part of this mission, the Equity and Inclusion Division (E&I) is seeking an experienced and passionate REALD & SOGI Outreach Manager to join their team. This role is crucial in overseeing and leading the Outreach Team, working closely with the REALD & SOGI Programs Manager to develop and implement strategic policies and practices that promote REALD & SOGI data standards and work toward eliminating health inequities.Key ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibilities of the REALD & SOGI Outreach Manager include:• Managing the Community Engagement Program, which includes four Community Engagement Specialists, and the Provider Engagement Program, consisting of three Provider Administrators.• Collaborating with OHA leadership, management, and program staff to engage with community members and organizations and develop strategic policies and practices that promote REALD & SOGI data standards.• Providing consultation, training, and support related to REALD & SOGI data collection and use.• Assisting the REALD & SOGI Programs Manager in identifying community and provider engagement priorities and developing strategic policy objectives for REALD & SOGI.• Offering strategic guidance to ensure that REALD & SOGI policy priorities align with overall OHA policy objectives and the priorities of various OHA divisions.Essential and Preferred QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:• A Bachelor's degree in a related field combined with three years of related experience, or six years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience.• Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree or higher in Public Health, Public Administration, or a related field, or equivalent training and experience relevant to community outreach, public health program administration, relationship development with healthcare providers, and public health informatics systems.• Proven expertise in data collection and analysis related to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation/gender identity (SOGI), disabilities, and language, with a track record of addressing health inequities.• Demonstrated ability to manage staff effectively, develop and implement program rules and policies, set long- and short-term goals, and evaluate program outcomes.Skills and Competencies Required for SuccessThe ideal candidate will possess:• Exceptional ability to communicate effectively in writing and oral expression.• Skillful in writing and analyzing general, statistical, and technical reports.• Accomplished in supervising, including planning, and assigning work, managing team performance, identifying training needs, motivating team members, and handling disciplinary actions.• Proven capability to organize work by establishing operating and reporting relationships and assigning work accordingly.Career Growth Opportunities and Learning BenefitsAs a REALD & SOGI Outreach Manager at OHA, you will have the opportunity to:• Work with a passionate team of individuals committed to eliminating health inequities in Oregon.• Develop and implement strategic policies and practices that promote REALD & SOGI data standards and work toward eliminating health inequities.• Collaborate with OHA leadership, management, and program staff to engage with community members and organizations.• Receive comprehensive training and support to ensure your success in the role.Work Environment and Company CultureOHA is committed to creating a work environment that is inclusive, respectful, and supportive of all employees.As an employee, you can expect:• A healthy work/life balance, including flexible schedules and hybrid work options for many positions.• A comprehensive, competitive, and affordable benefits, leave, and wellness package.• Opportunities for continuous growth and development, including training and education opportunities.• A dynamic and supportive team environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
