About the Data Platform Team
The Data Platform team at Netflix is responsible for empowering our business stakeholders to make data-driven decisions. We build and maintain a unified data platform that provides our microservices with the ability to store, consume, and manage their data efficiently. Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain large-scale distributed systems that meet the needs of our business stakeholders
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
Develop and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available distributed systems
Participate in the development of our data platform, including data processing, storage, and analytics
Work closely with our engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of our data platform with Netflix's microservices
Contribute to the open-source community and share our experiences with the industry
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in distributed systems and data engineering
Essential Qualifications
2+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems or applications
Proficiency in designing and developing RESTful web services
Experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available distributed systems
Strong knowledge of Java or other object-oriented programming languages
Experience with multi-threading and concurrency
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud-native technologies, such as AWS or GCP
Knowledge of containerization technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes
Experience with data processing frameworks, such as Apache Spark or Flink
Familiarity with data storage solutions, such as relational databases or NoSQL databases
Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git
