Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and inspections of server farm equipment, including servers, storage devices, and networking hardware Investigate and analyze hardware issues, coordinating with vendors for repairs or replacements as needed Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software Monitor server performance and take proactive measures to optimize performance and prevent downtime Manage and configure network switches, routers, and firewalls Monitor network traffic and address availability issues promptly Implement and enforce security protocols to protect server farm resources and prevent unauthorized access Monitor power distribution and backup systems (UPS) to ensure continuous operation Collaborate with electrical professionals to address power-related issues Maintain detailed records of hardware inventory, maintenance activities, and system configurations Create and update documentation for server farm processes and procedures Respond to alerts and emergencies, such as fires or equipment failures, with speed and effectiveness Follow disaster recovery plans to minimize server farm downtime Work closely with other IT teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and security specialists, to ensure seamless server farm operations Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of technical skills, knowledge, and experience.
