Job Overview

As a Data Scientist at Tesla, you will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets, developing predictive models, and creating data visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Key Responsibilities

Contribute to all phases of data science projects, from defining complex business problems to developing and implementing data-driven solutions
Design, build, and maintain complex data pipelines, collaborating with Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Machine Learning Engineers, and Product Managers to democratize data and enable a data-driven organization
Effectively communicate significant insights to all levels of the organization, tailoring your approach to audiences with varying levels of data science expertise and backgrounds
Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including leadership, design, and product teams, to deliver impactful business insights and drive decision-making
Apply various machine learning, advanced analytics, and data visualization techniques to diverse datasets across the organization


Essential Qualifications

Master's degree or 2+ years of equivalent experience in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Business Analytics, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Economics, or Engineering)
Results-oriented mindset and in-depth data science skills, with a strong foundation in statistics, machine learning, and data analysis
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Proven track record of extracting insights from data, building machine learning models, and driving business outcomes, particularly in business analysis or a related field
Proficiency in SQL and Python, with expertise in standard data science libraries and frameworks such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch, and PySpark
Experience with at least one data visualization tool, such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js
Ability to work with large, complex datasets, both structured and unstructured, and to develop creative solutions to data challenges
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously


Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or Google Cloud, and experience with big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark
Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git
Experience with data storytelling and presentation, with a portfolio of examples demonstrating your ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical audiences

Compensation and Benefits
