About the Team Our Analytics group is seeking skilled Data Scientists and Senior Data Scientists to join our team of experts in manual measurement, strategy, and tactical decision-making. As a Data Scientist at blithequark, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to discover insights and develop actionable recommendations that drive business outcomes. About the Role As a Data Scientist at blithequark, you will use your quantitative background to mentor other scientists and dive into large datasets to inform manual decision-making. You will work on a wide range of exciting challenges, including customer acquisition, fraud and support, marketing, balancing delivery and demand, new city launches, market efficiency, and more. If you enjoy finding patterns amidst chaos and have experience using analytics to drive revenue, growth, operations, or other business outcomes, we are looking for someone like you. Key Responsibilities Use quantitative analysis and data presentation to understand what drives our business Build full-cycle analytics experiments, reports, and dashboards using SQL, R, Python, or other scripting and statistical tools Work with and mentor junior analysts to use more advanced techniques and solve challenges Produce recommendations and use statistical techniques and hypothesis testing to validate findings Provide insights to help business and product leaders understand market dynamics, personal behaviors, and long-term trends Identify and measure levers to help move key metrics and make recommendations Work backward from expertise and sizing issues to ideating solutions Report against our goals by identifying key metrics and building executive-facing dashboards to track progress Collaborate with engineering to implement, document, validate, and monitor our logging Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have: A degree in Math, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related domain 4+ years of experience in data analytics, consulting, or a related role Experience working with funnel optimization, user segmentation, cohort analyses, time series analyses, regression models, etc. Expertise in SQL queries, ETL, A/B Testing, and statistical analysis (e.g. hypothesis testing, experimentation, regressions) with statistical packages, including Matlab, R, SAS, or Python Proficiency in one or more analytics and visualization tools (e.g. Chartio, Looker, Tableau) The ability to take ambiguous issues and solve them in a structured, hypothesis-driven, data-supported way Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing systems Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques Experience with cloud-based data platforms and tools Strong communication and presentation skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and presentation skills Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization tools Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
