Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer and Information Architect to join our team at blithequark. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in planning and executing data projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement large-scale data systems. Your expertise in data architecture, engineering, and analysis will be essential in driving business growth, improving operational efficiency, and informing strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement large-scale data systems, including data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to identify business requirements and develop data-driven solutions Develop and maintain data architectures, data models, and data governance policies to ensure data quality, security, and compliance Work with engineering leads and other teams to ensure quality solutions are implemented and followed to design best practices Build and integrate digital unit tests and participate in integration testing efforts Use and promote continuous integration and deployment systems Investigate data issues and perform root cause analysis Work across teams to resolve operational and performance issues Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field At least 2 years of experience in a data engineering or related role Strong proficiency in programming languages, such as Python, Java, or Scala Experience with data engineering tools and technologies, including Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and AWS Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data issues and develop creative solutions Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Experience with cloud-based data platforms, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security best practices Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong technical skills, with the ability to design, develop, and implement large-scale data systems Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data issues and develop creative solutions Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines Strong attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results Career Growth Opportunities At blithequark, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
