Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our Transportation Analytics team. As a Data Analyst at blithequark, you will work closely with operations and finance teams to provide actionable insights and drive business decisions. Your expertise in SQL, Tableau, and business operations will enable you to make a significant impact from day one. You will have the opportunity to work with large, complex datasets, develop impactful data visualizations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes. Key Responsibilities Work with large, messy, disparate datasets to conduct ad-hoc analyses and inform critical business decisions Design and develop ETLs (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to pull data from multiple sources and centralize it in a single table Create data visualizations using Tableau to display and quantify the impact of changes and specific business challenges Engage with team members and cross-functional groups on a periodic basis to establish credibility and share insights Analyze stakeholder needs and partner with them to share relevant information, including partnering with Operations, Finance, and Product teams on data accuracy, completeness, and latency across multiple operations and systems Leverage scripting languages (Python preferred) to automate tasks for reporting, such as screenshots, metrics prioritization, and outlier detection Document processes and share expertise with colleagues, mentoring them as you become a Subject Matter Expert Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: Excellent SQL skills, with the ability to manipulate data from multiple tables while maintaining data integrity (2-4 years of experience) Creativity with a User Experience basis to develop impactful Tableau dashboards (1-2 years of experience) Business Operations Fluency, with the ability to understand and root cause business problems A Supply Chain background, ideally with transportation experience Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Advanced experience with SQL and Tableau Experience with e-commerce operations or parcel service operations Experience with Python or other scripting languages Experience with data manipulation tools, including Knime, Alteryx, R, Tableau Prep, etc. Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess a combination of technical, business, and soft skills, including: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex data sets Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand business operations and make data-driven decisions Proficiency in SQL, Tableau, and scripting languages (such as Python) Experience with data visualization and reporting tools Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
