Job Overview This role is part of our Transportation Analytics team, a business intelligence crew that guides the transportation department's everyday operations. As a Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in assisting our customers in navigating through vast amounts of data to make informed decisions in a timely manner. You will work closely with operations and finance teams to provide them with the insights they need to drive business success. Key Responsibilities Work with large, complex datasets to conduct ad-hoc analyses that inform critical business decisions Design and implement ETLs (Extract, Transform, Load) or processes that pull data from multiple sources and centralize it in a single table Develop data visualizations using Tableau to display and quantify the impact of changes and specific business challenges Engage with team members and cross-functional groups on a periodic basis to establish credibility and share knowledge Analyze stakeholder needs and partner with them to share relevant information, including collaborating with Operations, Finance, and Product teams on data accuracy, completeness, and latency across multiple operations and systems Leverage scripting languages (Python preferred) to automate tasks related to reporting, such as screenshots, metrics prioritization, and outlier detection Document processes and share expertise with colleagues, mentoring them as you become a Subject Matter Expert Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should possess: Excellent SQL skills, with the ability to manipulate data from multiple tables while maintaining data integrity (2-4 years of experience) Creativity with a User Experience foundation to develop impactful Tableau dashboards (1-2 years of experience) Business Operations Fluency, with the ability to identify and root cause business problems A Supply Chain background, ideally with transportation experience Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Advanced experience with SQL and Tableau Experience with e-commerce operations or parcel service operations Experience with Python or other scripting languages Experience with data manipulation tools, including Knime, Alteryx, R, Tableau Prep, etc. Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you should possess a combination of technical, business, and soft skills, including: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand business operations and identify opportunities for improvement Technical skills, including proficiency in SQL, Tableau, and scripting languages such as Python Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
