Join Our Team: Inspiring Young Dancers in De Pere, WI Workwarp is partnering with the City of De Pere to find an enthusiastic and experienced Dance Instructor Assistant for their vibrant Youth Dance Program. As a Dance Instructor Assistant, you will play a crucial role in shaping the dance skills and confidence of children aged 3-14, while working alongside our Head Dance Instructors to create a fun and engaging dance experience. About Our Youth Dance Program The De Pere Youth Dance Program is a dynamic and inclusive dance community that offers a diverse range of dance styles, including tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, and contemporary. Our program is designed to foster a love of dance in children, while promoting physical activity, creativity, and self-expression. As a Dance Instructor Assistant, you will be an integral part of our team, working with children, parents, and other instructors to create a supportive and inspiring dance environment. Key Responsibilities Assist Head Dance Instructors in teaching youth dance classes, managing participants, and maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment. Support Head Dance Instructors in choreographing dance routines, selecting music, and choosing costumes for the season-ending recital. Assist in instructing classes during recitals and rehearsals at the end of the season. Identify and respond to participant behavior issues, while ensuring the Head Dance Instructor can continue teaching. Maintain appropriate safety measures for program participants. Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful as a Dance Instructor Assistant, you will need: A basic dance background and knowledge of various dance terminology and techniques. The ability to perform dance skills and assist teaching to a variety of age groups. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and other instructors. An energetic, enthusiastic, creative, and resourceful approach to teaching and working with children. Minimum Requirements At least 15 years of age. A responsible and dependable attitude, with a passion for working with children. A basic dance background, with experience in one or more dance styles. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a dance instructor or assistant instructor. Knowledge of choreography development, music selection, and experience with dance rehearsals and recitals. First aid or CPR certification. What We Offer As a Dance Instructor Assistant with the City of De Pere, you will enjoy: A competitive hourly rate of $13 per hour. A flexible work schedule, with classes held on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 4:30-7:30pm.
