Job Overview As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service and support to ensure their needs are met. You will be responsible for taking orders, answering questions, handling complaints, and troubleshooting problems, all while maintaining a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward our customers. Key Responsibilities Assist all internal and external customers in a professional manner, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded. Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times, even in challenging situations. Receive requests from multiple sources (phone, fax, e-Commerce, in-person) and complete the necessary processes for equipment services. Coordinate home equipment service requests with Dispatch for prompt delivery, ensuring seamless communication and follow-up. Engage in active listening with customers, confirming or clarifying information and diffusing angry customers, as needed. Provide customers with product and service information, ensuring they have the knowledge they need to make informed decisions. Maintain current knowledge on Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payor sources for equipment, staying up-to-date on industry developments and changes. Verify medical necessity, insurance coverage, and physician orders for all insurance-assigned services, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Follow policy and work instructions to ensure the Billing Department has the correct paperwork to complete insurance, maintaining efficient and effective processes. Understand and strive to meet or exceed department metrics while providing excellent customer service, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement. Make sales or recommendations for products or services that may complement client needs, as applicable, identifying opportunities to add value and drive growth. Perform other duties as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and needs. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of education, experience, and skills that enable you to provide exceptional customer service and support. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), with a strong foundation in communication and customer service principles. 6 months of relevant customer service experience preferred, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer experiences and resolving complex issues. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and management. Customer service orientation, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional service and support to internal and external customers. Attention to detail, with the ability to accurately process requests, verify information, and maintain accurate records. Good data entry skills, with the ability to efficiently and accurately enter information into our systems and databases. Proficiency with computers, with strong typing skills and the ability to navigate multiple software applications and systems. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple requests, and maintain a high level of productivity. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred and may be considered an asset in this role: Previous experience working in a call center or customer service environment, with a strong understanding of industry principles and best practices. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payor sources for equipment, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical and effective manner. Experience working with customers who have complex needs or requirements, with the ability to empathize and provide personalized support. Strong sales or upselling skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and drive growth through effective communication and relationship-building.
