Job Overview and Responsibilities As a Customer Care Professional at American Express, you will be the face of our company, making positive interactions with our customers every day. Your role will involve providing exceptional customer care, answering questions, and resolving issues in a fast-paced, structured customer care environment. You will also be responsible for recording important record data according to established policies and procedures. Some of your key responsibilities will include: Handling inbound calls and engaging with entrepreneurs and managers to understand their needs and suggest the right American Express SBS products Conveying high levels of product and service knowledge to communicate relevant product features, benefits, and other aspects of American Express Small Business Services Continuously developing key selling skills, including building rapport, understanding customer needs, handling objections, and closing deals Providing exceptional customer care by responding to questions about accounts and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner Recording important record data according to established policies and procedures Maintaining integrity and complying with all regulatory and compliance rules related to servicing and sales practices Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need to have: At least 2 years of customer support experience, with a focus on building customer loyalty through exceptional listening, consultative relationship building, and strong written and verbal communication skills Proven success in a customer support and sales environment, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, structured environment and perform multiple tasks and navigate in an electronic environment A high school diploma or equivalent required, with education benefits available for those who want to continue their education Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not required, the following qualifications and skills are preferred: Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with the ability to self-motivate and work independently Knowledge of American Express products and services, or experience working in a similar industry Additional education or training in customer service, sales, or a related field Fluency in multiple languages, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers from diverse backgrounds Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At American Express, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
