Job Overview and Responsibilities As a Corporate Counsel at Ocean Spray, you will play a vital role in providing sound legal advice across various areas, including contract review and negotiation, risk analysis for business initiatives, and research and advice in areas of the law impacting our global operations. Your primary duties will include, but are not limited to: Providing legal advice to different business teams, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Contract review and negotiation, leveraging your analytical and research skills to mitigate risks and protect the company's interests. Review of marketing materials and labeling, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. General legal advice on diverse topics, including business transactions, litigation, labor/employment matters, and compliance. Serving as cross-functional support to our International & Ingredients (I&I) Center of Excellence, managing international legal support and facilitating business initiatives under our Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Plan. Bridging international regional and corporate legal perspectives to improve risk management and close gaps in practice. Requirements and Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need: A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. At least 3+ years of experience in a corporate legal environment, preferably in a global consumer packaged goods company or agricultural cooperative. Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, verbal, and written skills, with effective negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams. A strong understanding of contract law, business transactions, and regulatory compliance. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working with international legal issues and cross-border transactions. Knowledge of agricultural cooperative law and regulations. Familiarity with labor and employment law, as well as litigation and dispute resolution. Certifications or specialized training in areas such as contract management, compliance, or international law.
