We're now seeking an exceptional Cloud Security Platform Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our cloud security operations environment. **About the Role** As a Cloud Security Platform Engineer, you'll play a critical role in safeguarding our Google Cloud Environment and ensuring the security and integrity of our clients' data. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust cloud security operations environment, leveraging your expertise in cloud security principles, GCP and Workspace security tools, and automation techniques. Your primary focus will be on developing and automating cloud security monitoring and alerting systems to ensure timely detection of security events, creating and refining operational playbooks for cloud protection incident response automation and orchestration, and integrating and optimizing cloud security tools within the SOC environment to streamline incident response workflows. **Key Responsibilities** * Collaborate with SOC teams and cloud engineers to design, implement, and maintain a strong cloud security operations environment * Develop and automate cloud security monitoring and alerting systems to ensure timely detection of security events * Create and refine operational playbooks for cloud protection incident response automation and orchestration * Integrate and optimize cloud security tools within the SOC environment to streamline incident response workflows * Lead the development of cloud security operations capabilities to enhance threat detection, response, and security posture * Participate in incident response and collaborate with team members to broaden and maintain strong security best practices and processes * Act as a technical advisor and consultant to internal stakeholders, providing guidance on cloud security principles, GCP and Workspace security tools, and automation techniques * Develop and maintain technical documentation, including operational playbooks, security procedures, and technical guides * Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud security trends, technologies, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve our cloud security operations environment **Essential Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field (e.g., computer science, information security, cybersecurity) * 2+ years of experience in technical troubleshooting, incident response, and security operations * 2+ years of experience in a single programming language (e.g., Java, C++, Python) or system layout * Secret US Government Security Clearance * Experience with cloud security principles, GCP and Workspace security tools, and automation techniques * Strong understanding of cloud security concepts, including threat detection, incident response, and security posture * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues * Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams * Experience with cloud security tools, including SIEM, EDR, and IDS/IPS systems * Familiarity with scripting languages, such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash **Desired Qualifications** * Experience with SIEM occasion evaluation, triage, and investigation * Experience with security impact assessment and formal reporting * Experience with technical necessities improvement of Secstack tooling (e.g., SPULK, Elasticsearch, Google Secops/Chronicle + SCC, Trellix Endpoint Detection and Response-EDR) * Experience with TIER 1 analyst support and technical mentorship * Experience with protection event control expertise, leveraging common assist systems (e.g., Servicenow) to report and manipulate the lifecycle of an incident * Experience with cloud security operations, including cloud security monitoring, alerting, and incident response * Experience with cloud security tools, including cloud security gateways, cloud security platforms, and cloud security services * Familiarity with cloud security frameworks, including NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI-DSS **Skills and Competencies** * Strong technical skills in cloud security, including cloud security principles, GCP and Workspace security tools, and automation techniques * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues * Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams * Experience with cloud security tools, including SIEM, EDR, and IDS/IPS systems * Familiarity with scripting languages, such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash * Experience with cloud security operations, including cloud security monitoring, alerting, and incident response * Experience with cloud security frameworks, including NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI-DSS **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** At blithequark, we're committed to providing our employees with opportunities for growth and development.
