About the Role As a Chat Moderator, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and positivity of our online community. Your primary responsibility will be to moderate our Discord server, enforcing community guidelines and ensuring a respectful environment for all users. This is a fantastic opportunity to work independently, utilizing your excellent judgment and communication skills to make a tangible difference in the lives of our community members. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and moderate the chat on our official Discord server, deleting messages that violate community rules and guidelines. Take appropriate action against users who repeatedly breach our community standards, including banning or muting offenders. Investigate user reports of rule violations, making informed decisions based on evidence and our community guidelines. Maintain a fair, impartial, and respectful approach to moderation, upholding The Mayeaux Foundation's values of equality and inclusivity. Stay up-to-date with community guidelines and best practices in online moderation, continually improving your skills and knowledge. Qualifications and Requirements To excel as a Chat Moderator with The Mayeaux Foundation, you'll need: Essential Qualifications: Be at least 18 years of age. Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure. Strong judgment and decision-making skills, with a keen understanding of community guidelines and online moderation best practices. Reliable access to a computer and stable internet connection, allowing for remote work. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in online community moderation or a related field. Familiarity with Discord and other online platforms. Knowledge of online safety and security best practices. A passion for creating and maintaining positive online communities.
