As a Behavior Technician, you'll play a vital role in providing high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children with autism, helping them develop essential life skills and achieve meaningful progress. Key Responsibilities Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings, utilizing intensive teaching and natural environment training methods. Implement behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as outlined in client individualized treatment plans, under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior, ensuring accurate and timely documentation. Assist with parent and caregiver training, supporting them in implementing strategies to promote client progress. Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding client progress, as instructed by the BCBA. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment, adhering to established procedures and safety protocols. Assist the BCBA in preparing client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skills acquisition programs. Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge To excel as a Center-Based Behavior Technician, you'll need: Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or willingness to complete a 40-hour training course and sit for the RBT competency exam within 45 days of employment. High School Diploma or GED. Reliable transportation, with proof of driver's license and valid car insurance (if applicable). Ability to physically perform the demands of the job, including getting down on the floor, standing up, lifting up to 50lbs, and running/moving quickly when necessary. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Cultural competency, flexibility, and open-mindedness. Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification, as well as a TB test (if not completed within the past year). Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following experiences and skills can enhance your application: Previous experience as a Behavioral Technician or in a related field (e.g., Teacher's Aid, Tutor, CNA, Caregiver, or Home Health Aide). Experience working with children with autism or other learning disabilities.
