About the Role We are looking for a talented Android Software Engineer to collaborate with designers and product groups to build high-quality, performant, and accessible client experiences. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with product groups and designers to help scope and refine hypotheses-driven, data-informed products and experiences. Your responsibilities will include: Collaborating with designers and product groups to assemble superb, performant, and open client experiences Working closely with product groups and designers to help scope and refine hypotheses-driven, data-informed products and experiences Participating with partner engineering teams on shared infrastructure Delivering excellent Android client code with effective documentation and automated tests that can be used by other engineers in the group Optimizing the performance of our Android applications with complex view hierarchies and states on low-end devices and networks Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field Strong programming skills in Java or Kotlin Experience with Android development and the Android SDK Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience with Android architecture components and Jetpack Knowledge of UI performance optimization techniques Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Espresso Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong technical skills and knowledge of Android development Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Netflix, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
