About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Substitute Teacher to join our team in Summit, New Jersey. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students and gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule. We offer the highest pay rates among substitute providers, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Key Responsibilities
Teach a variety of subjects, including math, science, English, and social studies, to students of different ages and skill levels
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of diverse learners
Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced educational setting
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
Three professional references, with one from a previous direct supervisor
A New Jersey Substitute Credential
A background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this)
Full COVID-19 vaccination
A passion for education and putting students first

Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
Experience working with students of different ages and skill levels
Knowledge of special education principles and practices
