About the Role We are seeking a high-impact and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule. We offer the highest pay rates among substitute providers, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Key Responsibilities Teach a variety of subjects and grade levels, including Kinder, Early Years, Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, High, SpEd, and Special Ed Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of diverse learners Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and school administrators Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced educational setting Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you will need: An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, with one from a previous direct supervisor A NJ Substitute Credential A background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience Special education training or experience Bilingual or multilingual skills Experience working with diverse student populations Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Communication skills : Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and school administrators Classroom management skills : Ability to manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment Lesson planning skills : Ability to develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of diverse learners Flexibility and adaptability : Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced educational setting Emotional intelligence : Ability to understand and manage your own emotions, as well as those of your students Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Scoot Education, we are committed to supporting the career growth and development of our Substitute Teachers.
