About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Girls Track Coach to join our dynamic team at Downingtown High School West. As a key member of our coaching staff, you will play a vital role in inspiring and guiding our young athletes to reach new heights, both on and off the track. Key Responsibilities

Assist the Head Coach in planning and implementing practice sessions, training programs, and game strategies to ensure the success of the team
Provide guidance, support, and feedback to student-athletes to help them develop their skills, build their confidence, and achieve their goals
Collaborate with other coaches, athletic trainers, and staff members to ensure a cohesive and effective team approach
Help to promote a positive and inclusive team culture, emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork
Assist with the organization and administration of team events, including meets, tournaments, and practices
Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and staff members to ensure that everyone is informed and engaged
Help to identify and develop the talents of individual student-athletes, providing guidance and support to help them reach their full potential


Essential Qualifications

A strong background in track and field, with experience as a coach or athlete at the high school or college level
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with student-athletes, parents, and staff members
A commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team culture, emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork
The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
A strong understanding of the principles of athletic development, including training methods, injury prevention, and sports psychology


Preferred Qualifications

Experience as a head coach or assistant coach at the high school or college level
A degree in a related field, such as exercise science, sports management, or education
Certifications or training in areas such as first aid, CPR, or athletic administration
Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities, with a commitment to promoting inclusivity and equity
A strong network of contacts in the track and field community, with the ability to attract and recruit talented student-athletes
