This includes cleaning, washing, and waxing the interior and exterior of planes, as well as replacing seat covers and mats. You will work with various teams to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to ensure excellent service and on-time performance. Key Responsibilities Clean, wash, and wax the interior and exterior of aircraft, aircraft parts, support equipment, shops, and storages Replace aircraft seat covers and entrance mats on service checks, turnarounds, or through-flights Operate motor vehicles, when necessary, as part of the job Perform safety and security checks as directed by Southwest Airlines or the FAA Meet physical ability requirements listed in this description May perform other job duties as directed by supervisor Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. required No current or future work authorization sponsorship available Ability to read records, follow instructions, learn, and understand operations procedures, rules, and regulations Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment, subject to adverse weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, as well as aircraft noise Ability to be aware of moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment on an as-needed basis Ability to communicate information and instructions in writing, verbally, or via radio equipment, as needed Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in aircraft maintenance or a related field Ability to operate a forklift, scissor lift, or boom lift Experience working in a team environment Skills and Competencies Physical ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Southwest Airlines, we prioritize employee growth and development.
