Job Summary We are seeking an experienced accounting systems set up volunteer to support our budgeting and reporting needs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for setting up our accounting software, providing training and guidelines, and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial systems. Key Responsibilities Setup of selected accounting software (e.g. Aplos, Araize) to support our budgeting and reporting needs Training and guidelines on how to manage the system and generate basic reports Assistance with setting up QuickBooks, including best practices for non-profits, and guidance on reconciliations, characterizations, and finding paid items Help with learning basic bookkeeping practices, including breaking down grants, budgeting, and forecasting Establishing regular recording, reconciliation, and reporting practices to ensure the accuracy and transparency of our financial data Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: Proficiency with accounting software, including setup and configuration Experience setting up a bookkeeping system and/or software from scratch Ability to set up regular recording, reconciliation, and reporting practices Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner Preferred Qualifications We are looking for candidates with: Experience working with non-profit organizations, including knowledge of best practices and regulations Certification in accounting or a related field (e.g. CPA, CMA) Experience with QuickBooks and other accounting software Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate: Strong technical skills, including proficiency with accounting software and systems Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits As a volunteer with MONSTER MOMS, you will have the opportunity to: Enhance your skills and knowledge in accounting and bookkeeping Gain samples of work and references to add to your portfolio Directly impact a community organization and make a meaningful difference Work remotely and create your own schedule, with flexibility and autonomy Work Environment and Company Culture As a volunteer with MONSTER MOMS, you will be part of a dynamic and supportive team that is passionate about making a difference.
