The System Finance Director provides system-level leadership for highly specialized healthcare accounting functions, with primary responsibility for Accounts Receivable / Net Revenue Analytics and Government Reimbursement. This role oversees complex, high-risk financial estimates central to healthcare revenue recognition and partners closely with senior finance leadership, auditors, and operational stakeholders to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic and operational leadership for net revenue estimation, A/R valuation, and government reimbursement functions within the Controller organizationOversee managers responsible for:Contractual and bad debt allowance methodologies in accordance with GAAPNet revenue modeling, hindsight lookback analysis, and variance analysisGovernment reimbursement and cost reporting, including third-party payer dynamicsEnsure consistency, rigor, and integrity of methodologies supporting some of the largest and highest-risk financial estimates on the balance sheetPartner with internal and external auditors related to revenue recognition, reimbursement, and compliance activitiesPresent and explain complex financial estimates, trends, and variances to senior finance and system leadership, including the CFOLead continuous improvement efforts across net revenue and reimbursement processes, tools, and reportingProvide guidance related to net revenue and reimbursement considerations for acquisitions, divestitures, and organizational changesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldProgressive healthcare accounting or finance experience, with direct exposure to:Net revenue estimation and A/R valuationGovernment reimbursement and cost reportingDemonstrated experience leading specialized teams within a complex or matrixed organizationStrong working knowledge of GAAP-based healthcare revenue recognitionPreferred QualificationsExperience with net revenue or reimbursement modeling tools (e.g., Crowe/Kodiak RCA or similar platforms)Public accounting background with healthcare audit or cost report consulting experienceCPA designation (preferred, not required)Ability to operate comfortably with system-level visibility and executive audiencesStrong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical leadersScope Clarifications
This role is not focused on Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) or operational revenue cycle management.
