About the position

The Applications & Equipment Engineer III is a pivotal role responsible for delivering exceptional technical support to our sales force, customers, and the Equipment Engineering Group. This role involves leading the development, support, and maintenance of equipment service needs, driving innovation, and troubleshooting key customer equipment issues. You will be part of a diverse, collaborative team located onsite in Ashland, VA, reporting into the Manager of Equipment Engineering, where the average tenure is 9 years within the team. This role offers the exciting opportunity to travel up to 75% of the time throughout the U.S. with occasional travel to Canada or Mexico. In this role, a typical day will look like providing expert recommendations and solutions for installation, automation, and equipment improvements to customers and contractors. You will lead strategic internal projects within the Equipment Engineering team, conduct plant walkthroughs, proposals, and presentations to assess and address equipment needs. Additionally, you will offer training and support to Equipment Engineers and field sales on new technology and product changes, serving as a subject matter expert in multiple Equipment Engineering platforms. You will also develop and maintain internal supporting documentation, conduct research, and generate updated equipment technical documents to support strategic initiatives. Furthermore, you will design and commercialize custom and standard equipment skids, staying at the forefront of technological advancements, and identify gaps in the field, analyze metric data to drive root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

Responsibilities

Requirements
• B.S. in a technical field.
,
• Minimum of 10 years in a technical service environment, with expertise in equipment design, engineering, field installation, and maintenance.

• Direct experience with automation, instrumentation, pumps, liquid storage, and delivery systems, or experience with wet/dry polymers, PLC's, Analog Circuits, etc.
,
• Technical knowledge of water treatment equipment applications for industries such as food, beverage, steel, power, refining, chemical, paper, commercial, or institutions.
