Environmental Transactional Associate

Proskauer is looking for a lateral environmental associate with 2-4 years of experience at a large law firm in handling the environmental transactional aspects of complex M&A, private equity, financing, capital markets, bankruptcy, and real estate matters. The candidate must have experience performing diligence, negotiating, drafting and advising on varied environmental issues implicated in transactional matters. Experience handling environmental regulatory compliance matters, brownfield clean-up and other remedial matters, and matters relating to sustainability, climate change and renewable energy is also preferred. Strong academic qualifications, excellent writing and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are required. Overview: The Group has extensive experience handling all aspects of a robust environmental practice, including transactional work, client counseling, enforcement and compliance, remediation, sustainability and climate change on behalf of a diverse range of clients including in the chemical, industrial, manufacturing and pharmaceutical sectors. This position will require periodic physical presence in Proskauer’s offices on a weekly basis. Accordingly, any offer of employment is contingent (subject to reasonable accommodations) upon providing the Firm with necessary proof of vaccination, and the Firm will keep all vaccination information, as well as any medical information, confidential in accordance with applicable law. The anticipated compensation range for this position is $225 - $370K. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
