Environmental Scientist/Geologist

They are seeking an entry-level Environmental Scientist/Geologist to assist with various projects related to environmental data management, site investigations, and remediation.ResponsibilitiesConducting environmental field work, including collecting soil, surface water, groundwater, and remediation system data; soil logging; and fluid level gaugingOversight of contractors conducting field surveys, drilling, well installation, development operations, and utility clearance for intrusive operationsParticipation in a health and safety team performing inspections, observations, and trainingField document preparation, field data collection, processing, and interpretationSupporting office tasks, including data entry, data analysis, report preparation, and maintenance of a records archive systemCollect and record data and compare results to relevant studies and state and federal regulations to ensure complianceTravel to project locations including driving and overnight staysSkillsBachelor's degree in Environmental Science or Geology and/or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationValid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM officesAs a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records reviewDue to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is requiredAbility to understand and supervise advancement of soil borings and installation of monitoring wellsAbility to demonstrate a primary technical role in multiple site characterization, subsurface investigation and remediation projects at various client sitesUnderstand and assist with site conceptual modelsCollect and evaluate environmental data in field and office settingsPrepare investigation reports and drawingsPossesses technical report writing skillsIndependent field work and leadership of field teamsContractor oversightSelected candidate will be required to complete 40 hour HAZWOPER training or annual refresher class, if neededSelected Candidate will also receive First Aid/CPR training and AECOM specific trainingLearn and develop a keen understanding of hazard recognition; and environmental investigation or remediationCandidate must be proficient with basic computer programs; MS Word and MS ExcelAbility to travel up to 80% to various job sites within USBenefitsMedicalDentalVisionLifeAD&DDisability benefitsPaid time offLeaves of absencesVoluntary benefitsPerksFlexible work optionsWell-being resourcesEmployee assistance programBusiness travel insuranceService recognition awardsRetirement savings planEmployee stock purchase planCompany OverviewAECOM is a global provider of professional technical and management support services to a broad range of markets.
