Entry Level Bridge Engineer
Gannett Fleming is seeking an Entry Level Bridge Engineer to join their Transportation group in New York, NY. This role involves supporting the design and evaluation of bridge and transportation structures, working closely with senior staff on various assignments while engaging in transformative projects that enhance transportation infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesPrepare drawings, details, and specifications for bridge, tunnel, transportation, and special structure projectsPerform structural design and analysis under the direction of senior engineersComplete calculations, quantity take-offs, and cost estimatesContribute to load rating analyses and prepare load rating reportsPrepare technical reports and inspection documentationAssist with shop drawing reviews to ensure compliance with contract documentsConduct field inspections on a range of bridge and tunnel structuresUse CADD to develop construction plansSupport ongoing reporting and documentation effortsSkillsBachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program0–1 years of bridge design experience or demonstrated interest in structural engineering through applied academic coursework, past internships, or work experiencesExperience using CADD tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStationWorking knowledge of structural design software and plan development processesProficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)Good communication and teamwork skills with interest in growing technical knowledgePhysically capable of performing field work including working at heights, carrying ladders and gear, working in adverse weather conditions, etcValid Driver's License and ability to travel to project sites as neededPassed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examInterest in pursuing licensureBenefitsHybrid (in-person and remote) work environment.Comprehensive benefits package including wellness programs, parental leave, and pet insurance, in addition to medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.Tax-deferred 401(k) savings plan.Competitive paid-time-off (PTO) accrual.Tuition reimbursement for continued education.Commitment to professional development, access to internal and external training programs, and support of active participation in professional organizations.Incentive compensation for eligible positions.Company OverviewGannett Fleming is a privately held AEC firm partnering closely with our clients on some of the toughest challenges facing our communities today—and into the future.
