As an Associate Data Engineer, you will be part of the Coordinated Information Establishment (IDF) Business Information Conveyance team, which specializes in data analysis and provides critical insights to business leaders. Your primary responsibility will be to provide technical support for the design and deployment of data engineering solutions, ensuring seamless data pipeline operations and high-quality product design. Key Responsibilities Monitor and maintain the components of the data engineering pipeline, including container-based services arranged through UIs, SQL, PL/SQL, Python, and Shell, with code managed in GitHub, deployed through Jenkins. Collaborate with the production support team to ensure that product design meets client requirements and maintain the highest standards of quality. Test and troubleshoot data pipeline using test and live client data, utilizing Jenkins, Python, and Java to automate these tests, and parse logs to determine next actions. Utilize dashboards for Kubernetes/OpenShift to analyze high-level issues and ensure services are reliable. Support implementation tracking post-go live and work with the implementation team to transition support. Work with data suppliers to clarify requirements and eliminate barriers. Drive automation into routine activities, enhancing efficiency and productivity. Perform other work-related tasks as directed by Employee's Chiefs. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics. Additionally, you should have: Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various products and services. Familiarity with design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate alternatives and implement solutions. Excellent logical reasoning and critical thinking skills, with the ability to recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong. Ability to integrate pieces of data to form general rules or conclusions, including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events. Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information. Skills and Competencies The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical, business, and soft skills, including: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and SQL. Experience with data engineering tools and technologies, including GitHub, Jenkins, and Kubernetes/OpenShift. Strong understanding of data analysis and data visualization principles.
