Enterprise Architect (Remote from US)

Remote Full-time
About the position This role offers the opportunity to lead the design and implementation of a unified, governed enterprise data architecture that drives strategic business outcomes. You will define the long-term vision for the data ecosystem, rationalizing disparate systems while establishing rigorous governance and standards. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will influence technical strategy, enforce best practices, and ensure the integrity, accessibility, and security of critical data assets. Your work will directly impact business decision-making, operational efficiency, and the organization’s ability to scale. This role requires strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and technical teams. Remote work is supported, with limited travel to foster collaboration and alignment. Responsibilities • Define and execute the enterprise-wide data strategy, aligning technical architecture with long-term business objectives. • Design scalable and integrated data architectures that manage heterogeneous data sources while adhering to security and compliance standards. • Establish and enforce data governance policies, including access, retention, and quality metrics. • Audit existing data tools and platforms, rationalize redundant systems, and reduce technical debt. • Develop integration patterns to expose siloed data across the enterprise without compromising integrity. • Collaborate with leadership to communicate technical realities, costs, and benefits of unified data models. • Guide cross-functional teams in adopting standardized, centralized data tools and architectures. Requirements • Minimum 12 years of experience in enterprise technology or data, including at least 5 years in data architecture roles. • Expertise in data warehousing methodologies and enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF preferred). • Proven experience rationalizing complex, multi-system data estates and operationalizing data governance. • Technical leadership with hands-on experience in architecture design, engineering practices, and data lifecycle management. • Strong ability to influence and communicate with executive leadership and large organizations without direct HR authority. Nice-to-haves • Experience with M&A or organizational data rationalization initiatives is highly desirable. • Familiarity with modern data technologies and platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, Informatica, dbt, Presto, or Datahub/Acryl is a plus. • Master’s degree in a quantitative field preferred but not required. Benefits • Competitive salary, adjusted by location and experience. • Comprehensive healthcare, dental, and vision plans. • Generous paid time off, parental leave, and wellness programs. • Retirement savings plans with employer contributions. • Equity participation and corporate bonus opportunities (where applicable). • Professional development, training, and opportunities to shape organizational strategy. • Flexible remote-first work environment with limited travel to enhance collaboration.
