NOTICE OF VACANCY
PROFESSIONAL EXTRA DUTY POSITION
Position Title:
ā¢ English Learner Teacher
ā¢ (2 Positions) 1 each at MVS and PES
Job Description:
ā¢ The EL Teacher will provide instruction to EL students as needed during the school day
ā¢ Write EL plans for students
ā¢ Monitor student progress, assess students, provide modifications for general classrooms
ā¢ Complete reports, and communicate with parents/guardians.
ā¢ Administer ELPA 21 Screener and Assessments
ā¢ Flexibility in scheduling direct services is necessary
ā¢ The teacher will report directly to the building principal and Director of Federal Programs.
Qualifications:
ā¢ Successful applicant must hold a valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate with an EL endorsement or EL permit.
ā¢ If EL endorsed applicants are not available, reading endorsement or graduate level training in EL will be considered.
ā¢ Experience working with EL students is preferred.
ā¢ Knowledge of appropriate teaching techniques and methods for teaching EL students, cultures, and the ability to work collaboratively with regular classroom teachers is necessary.
Effective Date:
ā¢ Upon Hire for the 2025-2026 school year
Salary:
ā¢ Hourly based on daily rate of pay. Number of hours based on student needs, per student. Number of students vary per year.
