We encourage open communication, feedback, and a strong sense of community.What You’ll Do* Lead & Develop: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.* Technical Leadership: Provide architectural and technical guidance to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability of the WMS.* Execution & Delivery: Oversee the development lifecycle, ensuring efficient planning, prioritization, and execution of engineering projects.* Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Design, and Operations teams to align technical initiatives with business objectives.* Process Improvement: Enhance engineering processes, streamline workflows, and implement best practices to drive operational efficiency.* Code & Architecture Oversight: Ensure high code quality and adherence to software development best practices through design reviews and technical mentorship.* Strategic Planning: Contribute to the engineering strategy and roadmap, aligning it with Stord’s broader business goals.What You’ll Need* Proven experience (8+ years) in software engineering, with 3+ years in an engineering leadership role.* Strong background in development, preferably in Elixir/Phoenix or other functional programming languages.* Experience working on large-scale distributed systems or complex enterprise applications.* Ability to mentor, coach, and develop engineers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.* Strong understanding of software development best practices, system architecture, and DevOps principles.* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Design, and other teams.* You will be required to clearly articulate complex technical ideas and plans with people of diverse backgrounds.Bonus Points* Previous experience as an Engineering Manager at multiple companies.* Previous startup experience.* Experience in logistics or supply chain technology.* Hands-on experience with WMS platforms, Labor Management Systems, or Order Management Systemslocations: Remote, United Statestime type: Full timeposted on: Posted 5 Days Ago
