Engineer, Packaging Industrial Design
We are seeking a passionate Industrial Designer to join our Package Design Studio. In this role, you will bring to life meaningful experiences and interactions between our brands, consumers, and packaging by designing next-generation packaging concepts from idea to final development. You will use your design and engineering skills to conceptualize and develop ideas, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure innovative and consumer-friendly solutions.
What Youll Do for Us:
Packaging Design & Development: Design next-generation packaging concepts from initial idea through development and commercialization. Engage in end-to-end packaging development process with cross-functional collaborations, ensuring seamless integration of design, engineering, and development.
Prototype Capability Development: Lead the creation of rapid prototypes using 3d Printing, label printing, and other technologies. Research new opportunities, methodologies and technologies for prototype creation. Operationalize these learnings into internal capabilities for Packaging Design Studio.
Technical Problem Solving: Provide engineering and consumer insights for design projects, ensuring feasibility through Design-For-Manufacturing principles and leveraging Consumer-Centric design principles.
Internal Influence: Collaborate seamlessly with Engineering & Conversion, GDI, Brand, and Category partners to deliver consumer-centric packaging designs. Use ideation and storytelling techniques to communicate design concepts and user experiences effectively. Support the development of presentation materials and marketing collateral to showcase design concepts and prototypes.
Competitive Benchmarking: Track new market entrants and assess their packaging effectiveness. Share insights and operationalize them into new design opportunities. Maintain active industry engagement to stay current with the latest developments in external design agencies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Required:
Education: Bachelors degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Packaging Design, or a related field.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in packaging design, industrial design, or a related discipline.
Strong proficiency in concept ideation and consumer-centric design techniques.
Proficiency in 3D and 2D design software (Catia preferred, Rhino, KeyShot, Adobe Creative Suite, etc).
Ability to create effective storyboards and user journey mappings.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills to convey design ideas and consumer experiences.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment.
Preferred:
Experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry.
Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in packaging design.
Experience with 3D printing and prototype model-making
Strong Graphic Design skills and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite tools.
Experience with user experience design development.
