Engineer (Hotel Maintenance)

About the position

As an Engineer at the Hampton Inn - Sweetwater, you will be responsible for performing preventative and repair maintenance work to ensure that the hotel is maintained according to established quality and sustainability standards. Your role will involve treating guests in a warm and friendly manner, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction during their stay. You will conduct room inspections to identify repair needs and carry out necessary maintenance tasks to uphold the hotel's standards. Your responsibilities will include installing or repairing sheetrock and other wall coverings, painting designated areas and items, and handling basic electrical work such as replacing light switches, receptacles, and light fixtures. You will also be tasked with repairing furniture, installing and programming televisions, and performing minor plumbing functions. Additionally, you will replace and repair heating and cooling pumps, conduct preventative maintenance on units, and trace and repair all types of water lines. Troubleshooting and repairing kitchen equipment will also be part of your duties. Maintaining repair and preventive maintenance records is crucial, as is ensuring that all work complies with local, state, and federal codes. You will be expected to be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work towards increasing both departmental and overall guest satisfaction. In times of staffing shortages or during peak check-in/out periods, you may also work as a bell attendant. Following service recovery guidelines and sustainability practices related to HHM's EarthView program will be essential in your role. Safety is paramount, so you will practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and comply with MSDS and OSHA standards. Overall, your goal will be to ensure guest satisfaction and perform other duties as requested by management.

Responsibilities

Requirements
• High School diploma and Trade school course work in related field preferred.

• Previous engineer/maintenance experience or equivalent training required.
