Overview

The Compliance Manager leads compliance efforts. This role serves as a principal resource for compliance and regulatory issues and trains and educates staff. S/he works with clients to enhance understanding of compliance requirements. The Compliance Manager also works with appropriate resources including AssuredPartners, legal, vendors, or industry associations in order to maintain appropriate adherence to laws and regulations.

What You'll Do
Ā• Develops educational materials for staff and clients, including Compliance articles, Alerts, and presentations. Works with Managers to educate staff on compliance requirements. Works directly with clients to enhance compliance through meetings, presentations and consultation.
Ā• Work heavily within self-funded and public sector accounts
Ā• Develops branded educational materials in conjunction with communication team.
Ā• Interprets and summarizes guidance and alerts from credible information sources related to employee benefits and human resources. Identifies and communicates key points to staff and clients. Responds to requests for information.
Ā• Coordinates efforts with compliance personnel and with outside legal counsel.
Ā• Monitors the use and effectiveness of compliance tools.
Ā• Ensures that mandatory compliance initiatives are completed properly.
Ā• Monitors compliance-related vendor relationships. Validates costs associated with vendors.
Ā• Reviews and updates Business Associate Agreements with clients and/or Account Executives.
Ā• Acts as HIPAA Privacy Officer.
Ā• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Agency's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Ā• Other duties as assigned.
Ā• Travel is expected to be 20% in this role.

What You'll Need
Ā• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or more than four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ā• HR Certification (PHR, SPHR) preferred. ACA certification preferred.
Ā• Highly knowledgable or specialized in Self-Funded and Public Sector
Ā• Tech savvy; ability to navigate multiple systems including Agency Management Software; Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products
