We are seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Employee Benefits Consultant to join our growing benefits team. This role is ideal for a sales-oriented professional who enjoys building long-term client relationships and advising employers on comprehensive employee benefit solutions. The position focuses on new business development while providing ongoing support to small, mid-size, and large group benefit clients.
Position Overview
The Employee Benefits Consultant is responsible for prospecting, selling, and servicing employee benefit programs. This role requires a high level of professionalism, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience.
Key Responsibilities
ā¢ Develop new business through networking, referrals, cold calling, and community involvement
ā¢ Build, manage, and maintain long-term relationships with small, mid-size, and large group benefits clients
ā¢ Prepare, present, and clearly explain customized benefit proposals and carrier quotes
ā¢ Submit employer group applications and all required supporting documentation to carriers
ā¢ Resolve client and member inquiries efficiently via phone and email
ā¢ Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in AgencyBloc or a similar CRM system
ā¢ Participate in BNI groups, carrier meetings, and industry networking events
ā¢ Conduct ongoing market research to refine sales strategies and remain competitive
ā¢ Track sales activity, manage pipeline updates, and report on production results
ā¢ Ensure all sales and service activities meet regulatory, ethical, and compliance standards
Required Skills & Attributes
ā¢ Strong consultative sales approach with excellent customer service skills
ā¢ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
ā¢ Strong problem-solving skills with consistent follow-through
ā¢ Professional, outgoing, and relationship-focused communication style
ā¢ Self-motivated, accountable, and results-driven
ā¢ High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism
Qualifications
ā¢ Minimum of 3 years of insurance sales or employee benefits experience
ā¢ Active Life & Health Insurance License (required)
ā¢ Solid knowledge of employee benefit products, programs, and regulations
ā¢ Experience with AgencyBloc or similar CRM platforms preferred
