We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Technician to join our team at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois. As an integral part of our emergency department, you will provide high-quality patient care, support our nursing staff, and contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional healthcare experiences.
Job Summary:
The Emergency Department Technician provides patient care within a defined scope of practice, including patient care, monitoring and observation, specified treatments, and procedures. You will work under the direction of the Emergency Nurse (RN) and Physician, collecting pertinent data and reporting clinical findings to the RN and Physicians.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist patients with basic care needs and other duties related to patient well-being
Prioritize patient care activities based on patient needs and unit activity
Administer treatments and procedures, such as vital signs, orthostatic blood pressures, and oxygen administration
Obtain specimens, perform wound care, and assist with OB/GYN care
Identify changes in patient condition and notify RN/physician
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited Paramedic program
Current EMT P license without restrictions or EMT B with at least two years of Emergency Department experience

Preferred Qualifications:

ACLS certification
At least two years of Emergency Department experience
