Key Responsibilities:
ā¢ Provide sign language interpretation for a 4th-grade student during instructional time and school activities.
ā¢ Facilitate effective communication between the student and teachers, as well as with peers.
ā¢ Translate educational materials and resources into sign language, ensuring comprehension.
ā¢ Attend IEP meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans.
ā¢ Adapt interpretation techniques to meet the varying needs of the student and the classroom setting.
ā¢ Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
Qualifications:
ā¢ Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter is required.
ā¢ Experience working with elementary school students, preferably in a 4th-grade setting.
ā¢ Strong understanding of developmental communication strategies for young learners.
ā¢ Ability to create a supportive and engaging atmosphere for the student.
