Electrical Engineer - User Experience

Working at a startup gives you the chance to manifest your creativity and make a big difference in the final product.As an Electrical Engineer on our Infotainment and Connectivity Hardware team, you will own the development of some of the key human-machine interfaces (HMI) our riders use to interact with our robot/vehicle. This includes hardware for user authentication, ingress access, communication, and cabin/occupant monitoring. In this highly cross-functional role, you will need to develop requirements, solve challenging design problems, create and test prototypes, and coordinate projects to meet critical company milestones. In this role, you will: Specify electrical component and system requirements and lead engineering discussions and development with suppliers.Coordinate supplier tooling and production to meet critical vehicle milestones.Collaborate with hardware design teams, firmware and software teams, and system operators to iterate on existing designs and develop future solutions.Conduct root cause analysis during the development, validation, build, and deployment phases for issue resolution.Support the development and execution of system and component-level validation test plans.Work with manufacturing and quality engineers to mature components and support vehicle build, bring-up, and test activities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent)5-10 years of experience in electrical component/system design and troubleshootingExperience taking a part or assembly from concept through production, working with external suppliers, and managing deliverables for multiple projectsAutomotive (CAN bus, automotive Ethernet, and other automotive networks), aerospace, or safety-critical industry experienceExperience with electrical and EMI/C testing Bonus Qualifications Knowledge of automotive functional safety (ISO26262) standardsFirmware / Software experience (managing/developing/testing)Experience with chassis and/or electro-mechanical systemsExperience using Altium, 3DX, Catia V5/V6, or similar tools Additional Information Compensation and BenefitsThere are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary will range from $186,000 to $241,000. A sign-on bonus may be part of a compensation package.
