Educational Audiologist | Portsmouth, Virginia
A full-time audiologist position is available to provide comprehensive audiology services within a K-12 school district in the Virginia Beach area. This itinerant role offers an exciting opportunity to establish and develop an in-house audiology program that supports student hearing health, replacing prior external clinic services. The assignment spans through June 16, 2026, with an immediate start date.
Responsibilities:
ā¢ Conduct hearing assessments and screenings at various school locations across the district.
ā¢ Collaborate with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals to support students' hearing needs.
ā¢ Develop and implement individualized intervention plans and recommendations.
ā¢ Manage caseloads of students ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade.
ā¢ Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state audiology regulations.
ā¢ Participate in ongoing program development to expand district audiology services.
Qualifications and Experience:
ā¢ PhD in Audiology required.
ā¢ Active Virginia audiologist licensure.
ā¢ Experience working with school-age children preferred.
ā¢ Ability to work independently in an itinerant setting with travel between schools.
ā¢ Strong communication and organizational skills to build relationships with school staff and families.
ā¢ Commitment to program development and student-centered care.
Location and Hours:
ā¢ Position based in Portsmouth, VA, serving schools within the Virginia Beach area.
ā¢ Full-time schedule, 37.5 hours per week.
ā¢ Itinerant service delivery requires travel to multiple school sites.
