As a substitute, you will have the opportunity to work in various settings, including Special Education programs, classroom programs, and other assignments. Position Summary
As an Educational Assistant Substitute, you will be responsible for providing support to teachers and students in a classroom setting. Your duties will include:
Performing a variety of clerical tasks to support the educational process
Assisting teachers with instructional activities and providing one-on-one support to students
Preparing and disseminating instructional materials
Monitoring and supervising students during activities
Recording student progress and behavior
Responsibilities
Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
Confer with teachers and assist in preparing lessons
Monitor and supervise students engaged in activities
Record student progress and behavior
Tutor students on a one-to-one or small group basis
Prepare lessons and instruct students on specific topics
Assist in the health room when the nurse is absent
Supervise lunchroom, classroom, hallways, and recess yards
Maintain an inventory of supplies and complete purchase orders
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
Have at least two years of post-secondary study consisting of 72 credit hours or 48 semester units
Or, have an associate's or higher degree
Or, meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics
Be able to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse students, staff, and community populations
Have bilingual proficiency and/or multicultural experience (strongly preferred)
