Editor & Aviation Content Specialist Needed to Update and Humanize Private Pilot Book
I’m looking for an experienced editor and/or aviation content writer to help me update, humanize, and improve my published book geared toward beginners pursuing their Private Pilot Certificate in the U.S. The book is currently available on Amazon (paperback, hardcover, ebook) and Audible.
My goal is to refresh and upgrade the book for the upcoming 2026 edition and beyond—with the following in mind:
-Update any outdated FAA rules, terminology, or training pathways
-Humanize and polish the tone (much of it was originally AI-assisted)
-Enhance reader relatability with a clear, conversational, and supportive voice
-Strengthen organization and transitions as needed
-Optional: improve or suggest content for related downloadable bonuses or add-ons
✈️ Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience in general aviation, commercial aviation, or pilot training (Private Pilot, CFI, ATP, etc.)
-Strong background in editing, research, and/or content development
-Comfortable editing AI-assisted drafts to match a human, motivational, and informative tone
-Bonus if familiar with FAA documents, ACS standards, or the ground school process
Deliverables:
-Line edits and structural improvements
-Content updates (based on FAA changes, best practices, or new insights)
-Voice refinement: making the book sound more human, warm, and real
-Suggestions for any removed, added, or restructured content
