Receives and refers donor-related calls to appropriate procurement, transplant, and hospital development staff; provides prompt, efficient processing of all incoming and outgoing calls to fully optimize organ, tissue, and/or eye referrals and donation potential. Coordinates logistics for tissue donation. Adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position • Acquire and manage confidential records, and ensure that information is protected according to all standards, regulations, and policies • Collect pre-screening information on all incoming donor-related calls, documenting the information according to Gift of Hopes policies and procedures • Evaluate incoming organ, tissue and eye referrals for initial donor eligibility; forward appropriate referrals to eye banks in accordance with established protocols • Update relevant stakeholders on the status of active referrals in a timely manner • Coordinate logistics on referrals in a timely manner, documenting information concurrently within the appropriate systems • Communicate accurate referral information with the appropriate supervisor or administrator on call, and/or partner organization(s) • Secure permission of county coroner or medical examiner for the recovery of donated tissue/eyes • Follow up with hospital staff to determine status on pending organ and tissue referrals • Review Uniform Donor Risk Assessment Interviews thoroughly and accurately; ensure appropriate screening was conducted and processor requirements are met prior to coordination of logistics • Successful completion of routine competency evaluations is required for this position • Other duties as assigned Apply tot his job Apply tot his job
